The restaurant Il Guscio was born in Florence in 1986,in the historical neighbourhood of San Frediano, inside the city walls, two steps away from the Old Bridge, the Piazza del Carmine and the Santo Spirito church and neighbourhood. Three very well close-knit persons (Sandra, Elena e Francesco) after over twenty years are still conducting this restaurant with the same passion they had when they started. In this beautiful area of Florence, still rich of workshops of crafters and small shops, the restaurant maintains a Florentine soul with a menu that offers at lunch traditional Florentine recipes all of which are served in a nice way by Alberto and Daniel, on typical yellow paper tablemat.

In the evening then, the tablecloth is in linen and the menu is richer. If you like to spend a wonderful time, fun and serene at the light of candles, you can have dinner outside in a little gazebo.
